Chemistry
Developer
The solution that turns the exposed silver halide crystals in the film into visible metallic silver.
Developers are usually alkaline solutions of one or more developing agents. They differ in how contrast, grain, sharpness and speed turn out, and in how they are used: stock or diluted, once or repeatedly. The film’s datasheet and the developer’s own datasheet are the source of the development time.
