Exposure and shooting

Exposure latitude

How far a film can be over- or underexposed and still give a usable result.

Latitude differs between types of film: colour and black-and-white negative films are generally forgiving, especially of overexposure, while slide film has much less room for error. Bracketing is one way to deal with a narrow latitude.
