Film
T-grain (tabular grain)
A film emulsion made with flat, tablet-shaped silver halide crystals instead of the traditional rounder ones.
The flat crystals catch more light for their size, which gives a finer grain for a given speed. Several modern black-and-white films use this kind of emulsion, and they can take longer to clear in the fixer than traditional films.
